Above and Below: Book Launch

Dr Ann Lynch and Rónán Swan, Head of TII Archaeology and Heritage, at the book launch.

TII was honoured to have Dr Ann Lynch, Chief Archaeologist with the National Monuments Service, launch Above and Below: the archaeology of roads and light rail at the City Wall Space, Wood Quay Venue, Dublin Civic Office, on 25 August 2016.

Edited by TII archaeologist Michael Stanley, this new book presents the proceedings of a nationwide programme of Heritage Week events organised by TII in August 2015. The success of this diverse series of public lectures, field trips and living history displays is celebrated with the publication of Above and Below, which presents a selection of the lectures. Supernatural power dressing in the Early Bronze Age. Ireland’s little-known connections to the Roman world. The underground remnants of Georgian Dublin. All this and more can be found in the 13 papers featured in this lavishly illustrated publication.

Above and Below, which is published by TII, is the third volume in the TII Heritage series. It is available through bookshops or directly from Wordwell Books (Unit 9, 78 Furze Road, Sandyford, Dublin 18; tel: +353 1 2947860; e-mail: office@wordwellbooks.com).
