Call for Papers: AYIA@TII Heritage Week 2026
The TII Archaeology and Heritage section, in partnership with the Association of Young Irish Archaeologists (AYIA), is inviting early career researchers, including undergraduates, to submit paper proposals for the forthcoming TII Heritage Week conference in Dublin.
The papers must be based on current or recently completed research relating to heritage data derived from TII projects (i.e. national roads, light rail projects, or greenways). The deadline for submissions (i.e. title and abstract of no more than 200 words) is 17:00 on Friday 1st May 2026 and should be sent to Archaeology@tii.ie
TII will review the submissions and select candidates to present their papers at this year’s TII Heritage Week conference on Thursday 20th August 2026 in the Royal Irish Academy, 19 Dawson Street, Dublin 2, D02 HH58.
Successful candidates will receive:
- mentoring from TII Archaeologists;
- an honorarium of €300;
- public travel (within the island of Ireland) and subsistence in line with public service rules.
It is hoped that this initiative will
- highlight TII resources available for research (e.g. TII Digital Heritage Collections);
- provide opportunities for early career researchers to speak in public;
- showcase any ‘lessons learnt’ that may inform future practice.
