Toll Charge Increase from 1st January 2026

• Following the application of the relevant CPI inflation figure for August 2024 to August 2025 of 2%, certain toll rates chargeable across the eight PPP and two TII toll roads (M50, Dublin Port Tunnel) on the National Road Network will increase from 1st January 2026. • The Board of TII approved these increases in tolls for 2026, for Dublin Port Tunnel and the M50 and confirmed the contractual agreement to the increase in tolls for the eight PPP Toll schemes. • On M50 all categories of vehicles will experience an increase, except for unregistered motor cars without a tag or video account. All other categories will increase by 10 cent. Heavy goods vehicles exceeding 10,000kg holding a video account will have 20 cent increase on M50.

Transport Minister and Government Agencies Welcome MetroLink Railway Order Nation-Building MetroLink to Transform Dublin and Ireland

The decision of An Coimisiún Pleanála to grant approval for the MetroLink Railway Order has been warmly welcomed by Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien, National Transport Authority (NTA) Interim CEO Hugh Creegan, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) CEO Lorcan O’Connor, and MetroLink Programme Director Seán Sweeney. This planning permission marks a major milestone towards delivering MetroLink, a critical nation-building project for Ireland’s future. The decision facilitates MetroLink proceeding to procurement and construction in the coming years.

Update on George’s Dock Bridge Fire and Luas Red Line Services

At approximately 7:00 PM on Tuesday, 19th August, Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) was alerted to a significant fire beneath George’s Dock Bridge in the IFSC, near Connolly Station. In response, Transdev activated its emergency procedures and immediately suspended Luas Red Line services in the affected area.

The newly completed car park offers 52 spaces, including electric vehicle charging points, pedestrian infrastructure, public lighting, and safe linkages to surrounding amenities. It forms a key component of Offaly’s Greenway Strategy and Rural Regeneration Programme, enhancing public health, strengthening local businesses, and encouraging active tourism.

Appointment of Chief Executive Officer Transport Infrastructure Ireland

Gareth Llewellyn, Chair of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), has announced the appointment of Lorcan O’Connor as TII’s next Chief Executive Officer.

A planning application for the N/M20 Cork to Limerick Project is programmed to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála next year, subject to approval of the project’s Business Case which will be presented to Government later this year.

Interactive mapping available from today’s update on the project website, www.corklimerick.ie, presents the developing design which includes specific information on the Indicative Development Boundaries, mainline, junctions and side road design, layouts for seven Transport Hubs and a dedicated Freight Hub, amongst many other design details and construction information. Public display events will be held between 12pm and 8pm in Charleville (June17th), Adare (June 18th) and Mallow (June 19th).

European Archaeology Days is an annual event that encourages public authorities and archaeology stakeholders to promote the archaeological heritage of member countries of the Council of Europe. This year the event runs from Friday 13 June to Sunday 15 June.

Toll Charge Notice Update - Effective 1st July 2023

Walk21 Ireland Mulranny Village Transformation

Mulranny, Co.Mayo, is a rural village located on the N59 national road, part of the iconic Wild Atlantic Way. Mayo County Council, Mayo National Roads Office and Transport Infrastructure Ireland identified the necessity for road safety improvements in the village. Subsequently, a Village Design Statement constituting a collaborative and participative approach to village design was developed.

New TII Open Data resources for archaeology and environmental sciences

This autumn has seen the release of significant new open data resources from TII that are now available on the TII Digital Heritage Collections and the Open Topographic Data Viewer. The new digital resources include archaeo-geophysical survey reports and aerial laser survey (Lidar) data commissioned by TII in recent years.
